5 steps to stretch your body like an african contortionist!

The post of yesterday was about the Kampala City Festival which had music, dance, fashion and showcase presentations. The event had not only great dancers shaking on the rhythm of african drums, but also contortionists who did great things with their bodies as you can check in this video below.

This was made by the Taptripper Confident Julius who also sent me a bunch of pictures. Particularly I was impressed after seeing this one:

Seriously, I cannot even lick my own elbow (and I also doubt you can), so how can this kid do it?? I don't really plan to try it someday, but if you are interested, you can follow these five steps below and learn how to stretch like african contortionists.

1) Start with simple stretches like the butterfly, pike, legs spread and reach out, bridges, etc.

2) Start very strict diet, drink about 8 cups (or more) of water a day, plenty of fruits, and veggies. In order to be a contortionist you must have a low fat percentage.

3) Go on to bigger stretches. Practice pulling leg up to head, putting head between legs.

4) Over stretching is required. It's really hard - specially for men - but necessary to get there.

5) Stretch for 3 hours or more every day, and work on upper body strength. It's not about muscle, but strength.

Then, a few practices more and you can become a good contortionist too. And, perhaps, attend to some other african festival too! Good lucky!
